Bailiss & Company is a structural and civil engineering practice focused on the people we design for, and with.

Founder John Bailiss has 20 years' experience from multiple award-winning practices, across all building sectors and materials, including basement design, working with listed and heritage buildings and construction on challenging sites, including over tunnels.

John is passionate about building a sustainable future for the industry and sits on the IStructE's Structural Futures Committee, and this is an approach we have instilled throughout the practice.

The company is founded on the ethos of providing suitable, intelligent and pragmatic support to projects, through the design of new structures and details, as well as the investigation, assessment and proof of existing buildings and elements. Proving that what we already have is suitable and functional is key to reducing our use of new materials, time, money and carbon.

The company employs a core team to service projects and works with satellite partners and specialists, with experience at a range of the UK’s top practices, to deliver the quality and support the needs of each unique project.

Part-Time Marketing ManagerFlexible / Hybrid

We're growing. We need someone to help us tell that story.

We're looking for a part-Time Marketing Manager to join us. Someone who can take ownership of our presence, build our profile, and help us reach the right people at the right time.

What you'll be doing

You'll work closely with John and the wider team to shape and deliver marketing across all channels:

Developing and writing content - journal articles, case studies, social posts and beyond - that reflects how we think and what we stand for. Managing our social media presence, primarily LinkedIn and Instagram, with a clear voice and a consistent rhythm. Supporting our approach to account-based marketing, helping us deepen relationships with the architects, developers and estates we most want to work with. Coordinating our events, from industry meetups to client gatherings, that put us in the right rooms. Managing our subscriptions, accreditations and industry memberships such as the NLA, making sure we stay visible in the right places.

What we're looking for

You'll be a generalist with good instincts. Someone who can write well, think strategically and get things done. Experience in the built environment, architecture or engineering sector is a genuine advantage. You'll understand that good marketing in professional services is about credibility, not noise.

You're organised, self-sufficient and comfortable working with small teams. You know the difference between content that adds value and content that fills space.

The role

Part-time. We're open to discussing days and structure with the right person. Hybrid working, with some time at our studio in Rye Lane, SE15.

If this sounds like the kind of work you do well, we'd love to hear from you. Send a CV and a brief note about yourself and why you're interested in the role.
